Mount Ida Preservation Association [Registered 501 (c)(3)] is building a vibrant community hub inside one of Troy’s historic landmarks. 

A Gothic Revival church overlooking the Poestenkill Gorge constructed in 1869–1870 and later threatened with demolition, Mount Ida Preservation Hall survives because people believed this historic place was worth saving. Today, that preservation effort has given Troy something more than a restored building; it has created a home for arts, culture, food access, entrepreneurship, and community life.

Each year, thousands of people come through the doors of Mount Ida Preservation Hall for concerts, performances, markets, classes, community gatherings, food access, and more. Behind that activity is an ongoing effort to preserve an 1869 Gothic Revival landmark and ensure that it continues to serve Troy for generations to come.

Mount Ida Preservation Hall is a place where historic preservation, arts and culture, food access, education, entrepreneurship, and neighborhood life come together.

Our historic sanctuary provides a distinctive home for concerts, theater, exhibitions, lectures, and community events. Our Community Hall hosts meetings, meals, classes, celebrations, and a weekly food pantry. A newly developed shared-use commercial kitchen is creating new possibilities for food programming and local entrepreneurship.

Together, these spaces provide affordable and accessible infrastructure for artists, educators, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and community members throughout Troy and the Capital Region.

Rather than producing everything ourselves, we provide the space, infrastructure, and support that allow artists, organizations, volunteers, and community members to bring their own ideas to life.
