Sponsor the 2026 Winter/Spring Season at Mount Ida Preservation Hall
Mount Ida Preservation Association (MIPA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating at the intersection of history, community, and art. Our mission is to restore the historic Ascension Episcopal Church as a vibrant arts and community center.
A Timeline of Revival
- 2000 – The Parish no longer occupies the building, and the church falls into disrepair over 9 years
- 2009 – The Caird family claims and transfers title of the abandoned church to a newly re-formed MIPA.
- 2016 – After years of volunteer work and small grants, MIPA reopens the basement Community Hall. The local food pantry is among the first to move in.
- 2018 – MIPA deepens its commitment to restoration by engaging neighbors, historians, and artists in shaping the building’s future.
- 2024 – A new high-efficiency boiler system brings heat to the Sanctuary, allowing us to welcome 500+ attendees to our first season of artistic programming.
- 2025 + – MIPA expands its vision with a full season of curated, sponsored programming.
