Mount Ida Rental Services

Mount Ida Preservation Hall has 4 main spaces: The Sanctuary, The Community Hall, The Kitchen, and The Lawn. Each of these spaces is rentable by any individual or organization, schedule permitting. Generally space is rented at a first come, first serve basis. We will accept a limited number of contracts for repeat use of a space, such as every Thursday. We will prioritize rentals that fit our mission such as performing arts, skills trainings, support programs, markets, or connected community events. We will also prioritize those local to the Mount Ida neighborhood.

Any events must meet our guidelines for safe, respectful, and acceptable use of the space.

Spaces may be booked by contacting us directly through our email, Facebook, or Instagram.

Each space has unique qualities, see and read more below:

The Sanctuary

Comfortably able to accommodate 200+ persons. The sanctuary is best for accommodating performances, markets, or banquets. The space can be heated in colder weather, and high ceilings and windows allow for moderately below outside temperatures in the summer. The natural acoustics of the arches are great for unamplified music or lectures, amplified music will sound great too. Thick walls and waterfall in our backgrounds keeps sound from leaving the building.

The Community Hall

Comfortably accommodates 80 individuals. The community hall is best for meetings, rehearsals, lectures, and parties. We have 40 chairs, and 11 six foot folding tables available for use. The space can be heated in colder weather, and due to it’s below ground location temperatures stay moderately below outside temperatures in the summer. Thick walls and waterfall in our backgrounds keeps sound from leaving the building.

The Kitchen

Our Kitchen space is meant to aid budding food entrepreneurs in the Troy area by providing modest preparation space at low cost. We currently have our commercial status: individuals must register their business to our space and pursue their own 20-C license at this time. It comes with limited refrigerator, freezer, and dry goods temporary storage. There are four small stainless steel preparation areas, three basin wash sink, vegetable preparation sink, and a conventional oven and stove top. The space is a shared kitchen, new bookings must be compatible with existing contracts for use of the kitchen.

The Lawn

Our lawn has stunning views of the Mount Ida Preservation Hall’s gothic architecture and overlooks the mighty and beautiful Poestenkill falls. The space easily accommodates 150 + individuals. Tables and chairs from The Community Hall may be available for use if there are no conflicting uses. Extension cords can be run from inside the building for lights or music equipment
